Tanji’s Gems
Wine Bars
Wine bars are becoming more and more popular. They’re a great place to sample a variety of different wines. If you’re a pinot noir fan, wine bars can offer you a chance to experiment and try several different pinots at the same time—a fun experience for your palate. You’ll also discover some good food and meet some fun people!
We’ve got several to take you to today. Each is unique, so between these three you’re sure to find a place you’ll enjoy.

Also, put Restaurant Week on your calender! August 18-22
Aldaco’s Creative Margaritas
See San Antonio from way up high.
Blanca Aldaco, of Aldaco’s fame, is known for her delicious food and creative margaritas. Now her new restaurant, out in Stone Oak, gives you another reason to head north—the incredible view.
You can get Blanca’s recipe for the Cucumber Martini in my recipe section.
Before you leave the site, don’t forget to enter our drawing for the free trip to Napa . It’s a great getaway for two at a fun bed and breakfast in the heart of Napa called Bel Abri (I’ve stayed there and am going back soon!). Also, be sure and sign up for my newsletter.
Bats and Burgers
Many say it’s the best hamburger in Texas — and right next door a show your entire family will enjoy! Make plans to visit Alamo Springs Cafe and spend some time at the historic tunnel nearby — especially in the evening when the bats are heading out for the night! Their flight times vary… check with the Texas Parks and Wildlife for daily updates and seasonal schedules… 866-978-2287.
