A Popular Zinfandel for Only $8

It’s the time of year to get serious about steaks and red wine! Ralph ‘the Wine Guy’ at HEB has some great suggestion for red wine fans that include a Malice, Tempranillo and a Zindandel – a little something for everyone.

Plus, Chef Elizabeth with HEB’s Cooking Connections has a recipe to pair with those wines – a delicious Cowboy Ribeye Steak with a Blackberry Olive Coulis. Click here for the recipe.

September Wines

  • Michel Torino’s Cuma Malbec – This wine from Argentina is perfect with steak. Nice blackberry, plum favors plus some tannins that will go great with the fat in the ribeye. A match made in heaven.
  • Pago Del Oro – A lively Tempranillo from Spain. This wine is a Crianza so it’s been aged a minimum of two years, and one of those years is in oak. Rasberries, plum and red cherries on the palate.
  • Into Zin – Spicy, jammy…lots of black cherry, blackberry and plum. One of HEB’s most popular Zinfandels. It’s only $8!

Special Selects

Look for the Special Selections wines in your H-E-B store. They are beautiful wines that are hand selected by H-E-B for their quality and extraordinary value. Watch for the red "Special Selects" signs in your wine department.

Also, remember, whenever you buy six bottles of wine, sparkling wine or both , you get a 10% discount. Look for the handy six pack carriers in the wine department.
