Fall Creek Vineyards has two new wines under the label “Mission San Antonio de Valero”. There’s a 2007 Mission Sauvignon Blanc and 2006 Mission Cabernet Sauvignon-both have a picture of the Alamo on their labels.

You already know about the free wine tastings at the HEB Plus on Blanco and 1604 on Fridays from 5-7. They will be tasting wines that pair with Thanksgiving dishes. Friday they’ll be tasting a pork crown roast with an apricot-cranberry stuffing and ancho-chili sweet potatoes. New Italian Restaurant

Head out to the Rim shopping area to try Maggiano’s Little Italy-the newest restaurant to open here in SA. Mike and I have been fans of Maggiano’s for years. We always enjoy their Las Vegas location and the Houston restaurant in the Galleria area. The bruschetta is very good, but my favorite has to be the crab cake sandwich…it’s so rich and full of flavor, and their parmesan potato chips are wonderful. Don’t overlook the salads-generous servings and always fresh. For reservations or more information call 210-451-6000 .

New Restaurant!

Frederick’s 2nd restaurant is here!!!! For fans of Frederick’s on Broadway there’s another location for you to enjoy his wonderful dishes. Frederick’s Bistro recently opened on NW Military Hwy at Huebner. They’re serving dinner 7 days a week and beginning November 17th, they’ll be open for lunch. Chef and owner Frederick Costa is incredibly talented…his food delicious! He’s known for his French fusion cuisine…not to mention his lobster salad! You can call the restaurant for reservations at 888-1500.
