Weekend Fun for Wine Lovers

Okay get onboard. Texas wines are in the news. Time to visit a local winery and see what all the buzz is about.

The Lone Star International Wine Competition wrapped up with good news for some Hill Country producers.
Grape Creek Vineyards near Fredericksburg won 9 awards…one of those what’s called a ‘Grand Star’.

Another big winner was Driftwood Estates Winery which won 8 awards. Driftwood also knabbed a ‘Grand Star’…a double gold.

One of my all time favorites Becker Vineyards won 7 awards. Becker Vineyards is about an hour’s drive from SA – Grape Creek is about 5 minutes from Becker.
Driftwood Estates is close to an hour’s drive too but a bit further east. It’s not far from Dripping Springs.
