The food is fun, creative and delicious. BUT, it’s also incredibly affordable. This is a place for everyone – yes, even your kids.

Princess Diana was quite a lady…mysterious at times, mischievous but down to earth and lots of fun. That’s what I hear from her former personal royal chef. I had the enormous pleasure of cooking with him recently and hearing more fun stories about the delightful princess.

One of the most beautiful cities in the world never lets me down. Where else can you spend a long weekend and get incredible food, amazing site seeing, breathtaking views and a quick jaunt to the wine country. Fresh home-baked breads, plump vegetables just picked from the garden and lots of homemade jellies and jams are a few of the wonderful things you’ll find at the Pearl Farmers’ Market. The fun starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m., but I suggest you get there early. Bring the kids, the pets…the whole family.

I have something special for you this week. One of the MOST romantic books, Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel inspired what you’re about to see. Chef Melissa Guerra, who has the fabulous store at Pearl, spent an evening in my kitchen preparing a beautiful dish from the book that was so ‘hot’ with emotion one of the characters burst into flames.
