How to Pair Olives, Wines & Cheeses
Amazing cheeses, wines, olives and olive oil made right here in Texas – you’ll get a chance to try them all at a very special event Saturday, especially if you like delicious food, because this event is sponsored by Les Dames d’Escoffier. This will be something special! It’s called “Olives Olé”.
Tickets are only $10! There will also be concessions, and I’m told, lots of free tastings! I’ve got the Dames’ olive, cheese and wine pairing ideas below. I hope to see you Saturday. Enjoy.
McPherson Sangiovese
Nice red berry fruits with a touch of earthiness. The Sangiovese grape varietal wasn’t born in Texas, but it got here as fast as it could! A perfect pairing for the:

Becker Viognier
A great match with both the blue cheese stuffed and the anchovie stuffed olives. Notes of stone fruit with a touch of spice. Serve NOT overly chilled and enjoy!

Messina Hof Sauvignon Blanc
Fresh and refreshing with a balance of tropical fruit and acidity. The perfect anytime wine. Experience the perfect match of Sauvignon Blanc and goat cheese. The olive is the icing on the cake.
